I’m currently in my 13th year as a Lecturer at the Yale School of Drama, where I teach On-Camera Acting Technique and Professional Preparation to the 3rd-year Graduate Acting students. In my course, the students, who have been studying theater intensively for two years,  learn how to work as effectively on film as they do on stage. In addition, I prepare them to navigate the difficult world of show business when they finish their training. Past students from my class include Lupita Nyong’o,  Aja Naomi King (How to Get Away With Murder), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (The Get Down and Baywatch),  Shaunette Renee Wilson (Billions), and Mamoudou Athie (The Get Down).

For more than 20 years, I’ve also been a Lecturer at The Juilliard School, teaching On-Camera Acting & Audition Technique to the 4th-year Acting students. Some of those past students are Oscar Isaac, Danielle Brooks (Orange Is the New Black and The Color Purple),  Samira Wiley (Orange Is the New Black), and Phillipa Soo (Hamilton and Amelie).

I’ve also taught at The New School and American Conservatory Theater.
